Cycling & Suds

It’s been a long winter. Record snowfalls and frigid temperatures have forced us to stay inside, watch football, and eat nachos until salsa stains our Denver Broncos game-day gear. This, and the combination of drinking large quantities of beer and deep-couch sitting has affected our physiques. No worries, spring is just around the corner, and like a hibernating groundhog, we need to get our asses back out in the civilized world again. I propose a calorie-neutral activity perfect for the Colorado lifestyle called: BeerBike. My husband and I created BeerBike after relocating to Colorado a few years back. While...

Greeley Beer and Spirits Festival: Saturday, April 2nd 2016

On Saturday April 2nd the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO) will be hosting it’s 2nd annual Greeley Beer and Spirits Festival. The event is a benefit for the GPO and is the GPO’s way of reaching out to a more casual crowd than might not usually be associated with an orchestral setting. Held at The Garage Creative Co-op in downtown Greeley, attendees will be able to partake in unlimited sampling of beer and spirits from 19 craft breweries and distilleries (full list below). VIP ticket holders will receive a commemorative glass which upon request at the event may bypass the sampling restriction and be filled to the brim for a full beer experience. The event was designed as a sister fundraiser to the GPO’s “Wines of Note” fundraiser, which tends to be slightly fancier and highbrow. In contrast, the Greeley Beer and Spirits fest is catered towards the casual craft enthusiast. Live music will be performed by Synesthesia, a small group of members of the philharmonic who play popular and well known songs on classical instruments. Nick Kenny, the philharmonic’s administrative coordinator and organizer for the event told The Pint that the goal of the event is “to get more people to hear classical music and drink a good beer.” To keep you full and on track, local food trucks The Bavarian Grill and The Slawpy Barn will be in...
