Fort Collins kicked off its fourth annual FORToberfest on Saturday morning with live music, food trucks, merchant booths, and a huge variety of local beer. This all-day street festival, though modestly sized, lacked none of the energy and charm we’ve come to expect from Ft. Collins events.
Eleven local breweries trotted out their harvest-best, available in pints ($6) or flights of four 5oz tasters ($7). From longstanding favorites like New Belgium and Odell to newcomers like Zwei and Rally King, the whole spectrum of Fort Collins’ beer scene brought something unique to the party.
Plenty of sunscreen, and a hearty thirst are a must. Lederhosen are optional.
FORToberfest is completely volunteer-run by the Downtown Business Association, and they’re always looking for new faces to help run the show. In the words of the sweetest ID-checkpoint woman you’ll ever meet: “Free beer, free t-shirt… Need I say more?”
