This past weekend, July 22-24, was the inaugural “Divide Music Festival” in Fraser, Colorado. Near Winter Park, the event was held on the famous tubing hill known as Colorado Adventure Park.

As one would expect from the high country during the summer months, beautiful mountain vistas, and lots of greenery (trees and such). Mild air temperatures throughout the weekend offered great relief from the stagnant hot air of the plains and foothills.

The location of The Divide Music Festival could not have been better, and with the option to camp throughout the weekend, we could not have been happier.

This festival was an embodiment of all that is Colorado and featured music from local Colorado artists like: One Flew West, Gipsy Moon, and POPFILTER. In addition, the festival boasted a lineup of big name acts such as: Kid Cudi, Edward Sharpe, Blondie, The Fray and JR JR.

To further complete the ColorRADness of the festival, organizers pulled together 3 Colorado proud breweries: Ska, Great Divide, and Odell Brewing. Mexican Logger from Ska was The Pint’s go-to but options like Loose Leaf from Odell Brewing and Colette Farmhouse Ale from Great Divide, proved to satisfy, from dawn until dusk.

At a press event for One Flew West, The Pint thought it would be fitting to ask the band what their favorite beers are. Band members Jonah Bartels, David Di Salvo, Linden Jackson, Dillon Mount, and Joe Pineda, were surprisingly agreeable to the question and offered an even split of favorite beers. Two of them stated Left Hand Brewing’s Milk Stout as their go-to, and on the other side, Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale. The remaining member said he liked Prost’s Pils.

A music festival just isn’t the same without beer, which is why we were elated to know that we could count on great beer at The Divide Music Festival, without a domestic in sight. Cheers to ‘looking forward to next year!’
